The Wagoner County Detention Center is looking for leaders ready to grow in a career with nearly limitless opportunities. Our Detention Officers make great money while helping at-risk populations better their lives while strengthening their communities. This is an entry-level job that provides on-site job training and development. Our Detention Officers contribute to the safety and well-being of their communities through the care and custody of the offenders in our secure, safe facility.
An excellent starting point for people wanting to start a law enforcement career. Many of the sheriff's own deputies were selected from the jail to further their training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and process inmates into the custody of institution; searches prisoners take charge of personal property.
- Supervise and control inmate behavior while performing various tasks completed during the daily operation of the detention center.
- Follow and enforce all detention center's rules and regulations.
Requirements:
- Must be at least U.S. Citizen.
- Have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Have a valid Driver's License - Insurable Driving Record.
- Must pass a background investigation and No felony convictions, also pass a drug screen.
- No Domestic Violence record.
- Good moral character.
- Available to work shifts - 24/7 operation.
